Skylanders Giants

Just recently we were lucky enough to attend the event of the year! Ok so maybe not to most people, but to any primary school aged gamers out there, it certainly was!

That’s right, Skylanders Giants!

As well as playing with the original Skylanders characters, Skylanders Giants brings a whole lot of new characters to play with.

•Giants who are twice the size of the regular Skylanders & have extra powers.
•Lightcore Skylanders who light up both in the game & on the figurine
•New Skylanders which are brand new characters
•Series 2 who are new versions of the originals that can upgrade further and can also be played on the original game.

There are a total of 16 new characters bumping the collection to a whopping 48 Skylanders to collect over the two games.

The kids at the event picked up the game in two seconds. It is much the same theory as the original, so if you’ve ever played Skylanders before, you’ll be able to jump right in. Even if you haven’t, it’s an easy game to learn even for the younger primary school aged child, my four-year-old daughter struggled but enjoyed having a go anyway.

The thing that I love about both the original & new games is that the characters are never killed, they just “need a rest”. So much more gentle and age appropriate, as is the rest of the game. Sure, there is shooting, but no blood and guts as in most games.

Did you know that if you lined up all of the Skylanders old in Australia, they would reach all the way from Sydney to Brisbane??? The game was toy of the year in 2011 and I think Skylanders Giants is going to follow suit this year.

JustMe

Hi I'm Sarah, mum to three little people, The Boy (born 2005), The Girl (born 2008) and The Baby(born 2012) and wife to my high school sweetheart. We have two little embryos on ice waiting for the right time to come home with us, yep we are IVF parents to both The Girl & The Baby, The Boy was a miracle who was conceived when we were planning our first round of IVF. My blog is a small place in the universe where I can be me. Sure I write about my kids, a lot, but this is my place where I don’t have to be mummy or wife or worker. I can be JUST ME. I think I may be a little addicted to the internet, you can find me (often) on Twitter or on my blog’s Facebook page
