Our team were asked to review these engaging educational toys and the reviews were conducted on 2 children.

Jake- 17months.- Jake is under the age category but after having 2 older children with speech delays we have been trying to encourage his voice from quite early on. He says many words now and everyday is learning a new sound or even word. The Letter Factory Phonics set is fantastic at encouraging participation from children. The fun music and singing attracts their attention well and the repetitiveness helps them recall it next time. He loves the alphabet and now tries to make sounds along with the song a, b, a, d, eeeeeeeeee..lol

He is not quite old enough to understand putting the letters away so I’m finding them all over the place however when he finds one somewhere he runs to find the box and lid to try it out. I’d like to get the Fridge phonics range which looks great. The volume could be a little louder (or at least an option to turn it up more) and the lid detaches but doesn’t really lock on so when you pack it away they stay inside but aside from that great product.

Ami 2.5 yrs old. – Ami has been quite slow on the vocal side of things. She was quite quick to reach physical milestones like sitting, crawling and walking however she is quite shy and quiet. We’ve been looking at ways to encourage her to use her voice and communicate and the LeapFrog range is fantastic. We have the Tag Junior (even though she is obviously to young to read hearing the voices as she points to things has been great. Learning the sounds of the letters is always difficult for kids and the Letter factory is brilliant!

My daughter is now repeating along with it “A says AA and A says AHH”. I’d love a more Australian sounding voice but aside from that I would definitely purchase and recommend to others! – Gem

Anything that encourages kids to be familiar with letters and sound is good. As a reading recovery teacher I see many kids that do not know letters ans sounds after 1 year of school.

Santa brought the Tag sseytm for my 3-year-old daughter last Christmas, and she loved it from the get-go. We got a bunch of the books, including all her favorites like Dora and the Disney Princesses. She spent hours and hours playing with the books, and I would switch the books around so she wouldn't get bored. Then she realized that her Tag only held 5 books, and that she would have to choose which stories she would have access to. Five sounds like a good amount, but not when you're three and you've read them all. It's been a major source of frustration in our house for months. And now Leapfrog has blessed us with a Tag with more memory! My daughter will be thrilled to get more books this Christmas and be able to read them all at once! YAY!

I am such a fan of Leap Frog, and this system does not dnpipsoiat. We've been using it for about three months now, and my kids absolutely love it. It makes each book come alive, and has helped to make learning to read fun. We started out just using this on car trips, but it soon became a daily favorite in our house.Pros: It is so easy to use! My 2-year old can actually handle it quite well, especially after watching her older brother with his. It's easy to grip and navigate around the pages. Each page also has several modes you can read specific words, an entire phrase, or press specific objects in the book for sound effects. The library of 30+ books that go with this system is also nice we have six of the books so far, and after three months my kids are still actively participating in reading each one. The best part about this specific Tag is the increased memory, which is a big plus as your child accumulates more than five books.Cons: We've only run into one issue, and that has been with the placement of the on/off button. My 3-year old has smaller hands and to get a comfortable grip he tends to hold it towards the top of the pen. When he gets excited and starts really cruising around the page, his hand inadvertently hits the on/off switch. Other than that, we have absolutely loved this system and highly recommend it!
