Julie Rafter is now blogging

I was super excited on Tuesday night when my FAV show Packed to the Rafters was on an Julie Rafter was chatting away about Mummy Bloggers! YAY!!

In the new season Julie has started a blog – It was nice to actually see a portrayal of a Mummy Blogger on screen.  You can catch up with this week’s episode here. And you can read Julie’s Vintage Mum blog posts here - yes, there are ACTUAL posts.

Some of you may know me as Julie Rafter but I have chosen my profile name as Vintage Mum as it’s a little kinder than “geriatric mum.”

Now the storyline is only fresh however Julie has only been blogging about 1 week  when she picks up a weekly column in the local paper (Don’t you all wish you were as lucky).

Julie Rafter - the Vintage Mum blogger

I love how the script writers have captured the essence of Mummy Blogging in particular the line that I am sure relates to most Mummy Bloggers; “Coming to bed, Jules?” …  ”Just need to finish this post, Dave” (Sound familiar?..lol)

Lately I’ve felt there are things I want to say. I have no idea whether anyone else is interested (thank you for reading this far!), but it’s like I want to get my thoughts in words, to organise them. You know when someone’s arguing something passionately and you don’t agree but you’re not quite confident to jump in? That’s me, except now I’m jumping in.

Julie Rafter: the blogger

The funny thing is out of this fantastic exposure for Mummy Blogger is weird realisation that real people are actually commenting on the blog… Not to Just Rebecca Gibney but also to “Julie Rafter” . Weird?

You only have to peek around online to discover how wide spread Mummy Blogging is. Do you think the script Writers are on the money with the plot and relating to their audience?

What do you think Julie’s next blog post be about??
