aden + anais® Swaddle wraps

If your like me and have a baby who likes to be swaddled you’ll soon discover that most swaddles and wraps are made for tiny babies and you really don’t get much use out of them. I went looking for some large size, soft and unique swaddles and discovered aden + anais®.

The practice of swaddling goes back nearly as far as human history, itself. The oldest archaeological evidence of mothers swaddling their babies begins in 4000 B.C. with the migrating peoples of ancient central Asia. The ancient Greeks and Romans swaddled. There are even biblical references to the practice.

Swaddling’s ability to soothe and calm babies has been known to mothers around the world for countless generations. Swaddling is said to be as familiar to babies as it is to their mums because it recreates the secure and cosy feeling of the womb — and using swaddles made of natural cotton muslin only enhances that blissful feeling.

You can read all about Raegan- Moya Jones co-founder of Aden + Anais in our “Meet a Mumpreneur” profiles. As a young woman growing up in Australia, Raegan Moya-Jones was introduced to many traditional practices of motherhood. One of them in particular– swaddling babies in generously sized, gentle muslin sheets– amazed her. Even the fussiest babies seemed to sleep more peacefully in muslin. Despite the hot days and the cold nights, muslin swaddles helped keep babies comfortable. And, most importantly, the very act of swaddling seemed to build a bond between mothers and their babies.

aden + anais®  have super cute prints and they are the SOFTEST muslin wraps I have ever felt. They have even been spotted being used by celebrities like PINK , Adam Sandler, Gwen Stafani, Jennifer Garner, Jessica Alba and Aussie Actress Isla Fisher just to name a few.

Their range includes:
-muslin swaddles (in classic, cosy, organic and bamboo collection)
-sleeping bags (in classic and cosy collection)
-bibs & burp cloths
-towel & washcloth sets
-washcloth sets
-dream blankets
-issie – security blankets

A pack of four 100% cotton muslin swaddling wraps are the ultimate in breathability and softness. The fabric’s light, open weave allows a baby’s body temperature to regulate itself naturally, helping to reduce the risk of overheating. It is gentle on baby’s skin and durable for everyday use. The more you wash aden + anais® wraps, the softer they get. aden + anais® wraps are extra large, measuring 47” x 47”, so that new and seasoned moms alike can swaddle babies of all sizes with ease. Traditionally used for swaddling, our wraps can also be used as burp cloths, nursing and stroller covers, portable crib sheets, stroller and car seat liners, tummy time blankets, change table covers, and more.

Jacob LOVES his “Liam the brave” set and at least one wrap goes with him everywhere we go (My person Fav is the Paper planes). They are large size wraps and at 11 months we are still able to use them with a lot more use yet. I use it over the pram, for the car window, he HAS to have one in bed with him to sleep (even if he just holds the tag). If you’re after large size wraps then you have to try aden + anais®. They even have double layer wraps for those colder nights. Check out their site for their complete range (boys girls and neutral available… I LOVE the giraffe one)- Jess x
